Within the framework of its Eighth Conference “Naming and Framing: The Making of Sexual (In)Equality,” which took place in the Facultad de Medicina at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain from July 6th to 9th, 2011, the International Association for the Study of Sexuality, Culture and Society offered an award for the best paper and the best poster presented during the event.
The jury decided to present as winner the paper entitled:
“Mapping Sexual Discourse for Culturally-Aware Curricula in Armenia” By Ani Colekessian
And to call an Honorary Mention to the paper entitled:
“An Analysis of Same Sex Female Masculinity in Sri Lanka” By Jayanthi Kuru-Utumpala
Additionally, an award for best poster was granted to:
William Leonard, from Australia, with the poster entitled “Heterosexist Harassment in Australia: The Limits of Comparative Analyses of Sexual Rights in Western and Non-Western Jurisdictions”.
